1st post, (probably of many)

After 6 months of consideration and reading almost every relevant community post, review and boring my poor wife with my dithering, I’ve finally made a decision and bought my first Naim product.

I’ve been very happy for the past 18 years with Arcam. Driving a 5.1 Sonus Faber setup with no faults or problems but time moves on and technology is certainly very different now. I’ve gone for a factory refurbished Uniti Star and am reducing my speakers to 2.1. It’s a more user friendly and simplified system and drastically reduces the visual impact of kit in our living space, something my long suffering wife is very pleased about.

During my considerations we looked at separates again, every “all-in-one” system known to man and pretty much every product that kept me under a £5k budget. As a newly retired 57 year old I was conscious that ease of use was a major consideration and although my personal preference will always be separates, I concede that for others in the home the Unity Star is very straightforward and accessible, I just have to learn to be open to others touching.

Anyway, may pop a couple of questions in the future if I can’t find the answer but look forward to this next chapter.

Regards

Simon

Welcome to the forum - and wow, retirement at 57! Assuming all is good health-wise that is fantastic, ten years younger than I managed!

Holy cow…That’s cool! I need to continue to 67 and a bit

Enjoy your Uniti Star, the simplified setup and especially the music!

Indeed, turning 60 next year and it feels like the new fully active 50!

Though at the high school reunion last week (the other) people did look rather old

In any case welcome here and enjoy your first Naim, good choice!
