250 vs 300

Have you ever eaten a proper pizza?

Clearly not!

Here you go again lol
I can’t be bothered to repeat myself, its all above

I thought it was age restrictions in using lol.

Is it an unauthorised modification to add creme fresh and a poached egg on top, to the pizza?

Then you get Mcintosh.

Or Schitt.

What?

G

Authorised. But not tomato sauce covering the power plug.

problem is not in the dressing  but in the crust.
A problem burn (in) :smile:would somehow solve

Using the pizza analogy don’t forget with the 300 or 500 you also get two garlic bread baguettes ( burndies) .

The real issue here is that to get the best out of the 300 IMO it needs 2 frame stacks organised in a brain/brawn configuration with appropriate components preceding it in a similar brain/brawn configuration in the hi-fi chain, otherwise you are not getting double the SQ over the 250 to justify its double the price. To my mind there is no point in going for the 300 if you are limited by a single Fraim stack either because 1. You dont have the room or 2. You dont want your living room resembling NASA mission control and value the aesthetics. With the 250 you know you are getting optimum 250 SQ within a single Fraim stack.

I had the 250CB which was a wonderful amp. I was playing music at high volumes and found the amp cut out for protection. So along came 2 x 135s CB which sound very similar. Have more power, they don’t cut out and there is better performance at low and high end volume.

Would a 300DR offer anything more than what I have which is superb. The 135s are fully serviced.

Would at some stage like a 500DR with 552DR. But that could be a decade away.

Dreaming on… :upside_down_face:

Hi Dan, I reckon 2x135s will trounce a 300 in the grunt department, however I would also imagine the 300 to have slightly more sophistication. As always swings and roundabouts on the old hifi Merry go round. :+1:t3: ATB Peter

Hi Peter,

I reckon stay put for now and save money for a 552 first!

I think so old bean…source first and all that…

Well Dan, imagine if you could DR 135s. :hugs: I think a 552 first would be a great call, but would you consider maybe a 52 even to keep within era of design? ( suspect they don’t come up often ). Bluesfan has got exactly that and his system sounds great!
Back in the day I used to run 52/ 4x135s into SBLs and did that system rock to the point, where the gaskets kept popping  ATB Peter

A 52 is a possibility and will send my 135s off to Naim to be DRd!  :joy:

Not in my system more than enough music with one Fraim - as long as you take the time to dress cables and the system is in the correct order LP12/252/NDX/300/300PSU/SC the music just flows

In Naples, lunch of a fresh pizza and a carafe of the local red; it has to be one of the best ways to while away an hour or so around the middle of the day.
