Is it possible to use a 272 just as a streamer into another pre or integrated amp, if so, how so?
The 272 has a line out for connection to a preamp, as well as a pre out to connect to a power amp, so you can easily connect it to pretty much any amp you like.
It’s a 2 x RCA output socket.
I tried that but volume was still coming from the 272 volume control.
I used to use mine into Dynaudio XD 600’s, using the digital out (RCA). Sounded fabulous too, one of those setups that I should have kept. The XD’s are active speakers, if you didn’t know.
Sounds like you are using pre out instead of line out.
