Do take heed of Mr T’s warning here and be very careful; accidentally unplugging a SNAIC while everything is powered on can potentially damage your speakers.

Just checked now. Carefully nudged the connector at both ends in all directions a few times but all is well. I’m putting it down to me not having it inserted properly in the first place. There isn’t a great deal holding them on without the facility to lock collars.
Very good, that sounds promising.
As you say it takes very little force to undo a non locking plug as it’s just the contacts holding it. Best forget about ‘making sure leads hang freely etc’ - in this case it’s much more important to make sure the plug isn’t being pulled by the weight of the cable.
