500 v 2x300 active?

I think you will find that, once we adjust for the reduced number of Fraim shelves, the hiding of cables that were previously visible, and the ability to increase the number of sofas in the room coupled with my generosity in reducing the number (but not necessarily size, oops) of black boxes, we are looking more Blue Peter cloche than Kew Gardens

Looking forward to purchasing Veggie boxes next year😁

Anything to save me from endless green bean soup - we had a ridiculously bumper year of green beans in 1997 I think it was, and I have had this thing against them ever since

There is a greek meatball recipe with green beans which is a favourite end game for the surplus green beans in our house.

Yeah, but there’s surplus and European green bean mountain :mountain_snow: surplus

Thanks Gary - I took a close note of the photos you had put up of your Titans in walnut. It was helpful to see as many photos as possible - thanks for that. Toon was another one whose photos helped

Glad it was helpful Tim. I think they look great in walnut, and love the way the finish looks in daylight as well as under tungsten light in the evening.

It’s been an interesting thread to follow. Pleased you have got things sorted. I think you will enjoy the 500 (DR). I’ve been through 250DR, 300DR to 500. Only really felt convinced with the 500 even if unDRed but serviced. It did come with a 552 from the same owner also serviced. I have to say that with the much mentioned Musicworks it has become something that allows me to just listen to the music. I only really appreciated what PRaT is about with the 552/500.

It seems to me DRing the 500 is my most worthwhile step forward. I think I will not rush as I find tweaking does not work. I suspect Naim boxes get better and better on their own over a long time once the fundamentals are right. Enjoy.

Thanks, Dunc. Even my wife was pushing me to say yes quickly as she wants to get everything finalised and in place for Christmas (though that depends on Kudos’ production), but I wanted to be absolutely sure - which didn’t take long once they moved out a bit more

Great result, and will be even better with a 500dr driving them

And the electrician is coming early next week. So maybe I won’t be in trouble for ruining Christmas after all!

New speakers, new amp and a peaceful Christmas!
Tim, year 2020 ends pretty nicely. You did manage :+1:
Enjoy your new system, and post some pictures!

I will

I do still have to resolve (1) where the melco server, ripper and EE switch go, and (2) whether or not I am going to leave space for a second 555dr :man_shrugging:

I think you need to leave a space for that extra 555 psu…it unfortunately is the icing and the cherry on the nd555 cake.

Here we like cake with ice cream and cherry on top. There is no antagonism.

…and don’t forget to keep an unused medium level for the cherry! See, we are all here to help…:innocent: Enjoy Peter

Also the SL2’s and 300 are crying out to be used in the ‘garden room’ as a second system. A 272/555 should suffice as a source

Cake with ice cream?

You French!

‘…cheese, cake…CHEESE, CAKE!..’

(FR, the last comment is British thing, I won’t try to explain).
