Is there a preferred input for the ND555 on the 552 or any pre-amp?

I’ve always used the defaults - so for primary digital source, the second socket along. However, as I understand it, there’s no technically preferred input on the NAC552, bar preferring DIN over RCA Phono.

When I first got my 552 I was confused about the input configuration.
But when I re-read the manual it is actually quite straight forward. You need to be able to see the back of the 552 to see which LED is lit above either the DIN or RCA input.
