6 Nations 2026

Let’s get this show on the road. A thread for all things related to the 6N … starting tonight with France v Ireland.

I love the 6 nations the greatest rugby tournament the world has ever seen. No contest.

It also comes at the right time of year as we emerge from the gloom of January, and stagger blinking into even worse gloom during February.

Apparently ITV here in the U.K. are breaking new ground this time by airing advertising breaks DURING live play!!! I am looking forward to throwing my glass at the screen and I might even burn my TV licence in protest.

All contributions welcome including from the southern hemisphere. Assuming they are interested…

Just watching the build up now. France should have this with Ireland all a bit new.

Feels like France at home v Ireland at the start and at home v England to close the competition makes them solid favourites.

England improved substantially this autumn but especially with lots of front row injuries I suspect they will come up short, although probably not against Wales tomorrow.

France>England>Ireland>Scotland>Italy>Wales my not very radical prediction.

The thought of in-match adverts has made me think outside of the box, and am watching the game on france. tv /france-2 for free, courtesy of Surfshark

I think the ads are going to be split screen, no loss of vision on the play.

I think Wales may surprise. Also I think Italy are ready to be ahead of Scotland.

From what I read I think you are right. I reserve the right to be very cheesed off when it happens though. Great counter attacking try from France.

Jeepers it just happened :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

There ya go. Big screen needed.

This is a mismatch. We’ve shown nothing in attack or defence.

Sadly Eoin I think you are right. I can’t think of anything that went right for Ireland in that half. Time for Farrell to put a rocket somewhere at half time.

To be fair France have been exceptional even for them. Strong and solid play plus all the right clever touches and keeping the ball moving. It will be interesting to see if they have the same stamina in the second half.

Oh dear, this is messy already.

If it stops raining France might be really good…

That is just skill above and beyond.

It’s superb play by France against a quite weak Ireland team. Ireland’s weakness takes nothing away from the brilliant handling, kicking and passing.

How come the match is on a Thursday and not the usual Saturday?

To not clash with the winter olympics.

Ah ok thanks, I just turned it on, we’re being thrashed!

Well done. Back in the game.

And back in the game a bit more
