I have been offered and opportunity to get a pair of 801d4 speakers at a price that I might not be able to refuse…. I was worried that they may take more to drive them but looking at the specs they are actually potentially a better pairing with the NAP500dr.
Anyone have experience of going from the 803s to the 801s?
Of course I will home test them but wanted to check in here for any feedback.
801d4 is an end game speaker. I’d certainly do it if the price was right
I have a pair and my 500DR copes very nicely.
I see no reason why they’x be any more difficult to drive, while the bigger drivers and deeper bass suggest beneficial experience. Personally if I liked the 803 I’d be unlikely to hesitate hearing the 801 for confirmation, with full expectation of saying yes.
