Hasn’t this gone far enough.
This was a good and interesting thread, now it’s just become ridiculous.
Sort out please, but do it elsewhere, NOT on here!!
Yes, agree. It’s all gone way OT and time to draw a line here, otherwise it starts to look like argument for sake of it. Move on please. Thanks.
That’s exactly how it felt. Thanks @Richard.Dane.
I liked the film as a piece of fluffy entertainment. There is next to no part of it which is factually accurate but then that’s films for you. A written biography is (arguably) the place to go for that. I believe one of the Dylan boards (and this is the peril of having a Dylan fanatic as an over the road neighbour in NE Wales) has catalogued over 400 errors so far including the supposedly accurate studio scenes; instruments; microphones etc.
That’s why it amused me who was predominantly going to see it. Dylan fans expecting to learn something will learn nothing. Dylan fans expecting biography will not get that either.
The long winter nights must fly by.
Yes you have been to see it twice despite…
…which seems at odds with liking the film or maybe the answer my friend is blowing in the wind.
I am reasonably interested in seeing this film which is unusual for me as I do not like biopics much particularly of musicians I like. I shall wait to see it outside the cinama though as I do not like sitting in theatres with lots of other people.
Dylan seems an interesting person but although I may be a fan of some people and collect their records I don’t care whether I know much about the person and do not read biographies etc. It’s the music I like rather than the person.
I think the film would be more enjoyable at the cinema - big screen, surround sound etc - and you could go online to see if you can find a showing with only a few other people in the audience at for example a matinee screening. My wife is not a Dylan fan and she enjoyed the story and the music with me at the cinema.
Dear lord, spare me from people who want to attack posters simply because an opinion exists which is not theirs.
FFS it’s a lightweight music biopic which can be enjoyed at that level. That’s amusing because he is in many ways a heavy topic and thus the amazing profundity people wish to attach to something which simply can’t carry that weight.
Zero hypocrisy in wanting to watch it more than once in order to both enjoy again and form a clear opinion. Do you listen to a piece of music just the once before pronouncing on it definitely. Not a question.
