A question about standby mode on Uniti components

Updated below - it was a server mode issue!

Hi all – I need some advice please!

When switching my (nearly new) Nova to standby mode yesterday I noticed – for the first time – that the power/standby LED blinked a number of times before staying solid (I think it was three quick blinks and then 4 slower ones). I’ve literally never noticed this before and went into a mild panic. I turned the power off a couple of times, did a factory reset using the play/pause and input buttons, left it off for 30 minutes… all to no avail. It kept blinking when going into standby. That said, it powered up from standby without any issues whatsoever.

Completely perplexed, I went upstairs to test the Atom that I’ve owned for some months. I was convinced that it would demonstrate there was an issue with the Nova but, sure enough, it did exactly the same thing. Again, I’ve never noticed it before. Ever!

I’m assuming that the two components can’t have suddenly developed the same fault overnight and that it’s completely normal (and that the only issue was me never having paid attention to the LEDs when hitting the standby button on the remote). However, can someone PLEASE confirm that I can rest easy, and that it’s expected behaviour?

@Richard.Dane ?

just shut my atom he down for the app and no blinking, just a click then all the control lights go off and the power button stayed steady and lit. i have mine in server mode if that helps so its always warm

Oh. Thanks :thinking:

This might help:

AFAIK, the blinking is usually while the unit is shutting down its internal server or streaming board.

Thanks Richard. I’m not sure that it does, though.

yes, as when i press and hold the for a hard power off it blinks, @learningtofly do you have server mode on so its discoverable from the app?

I do, but it makes no difference if I don’t. (In fact, I didn’t :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:)

I put my Atom into the deep sleep standby yesterday by long pressing the button on the front. It did the blinking thing just like yours. It’s fine.

Mine do it just going into normal standby, though.

Panic over - it was indeed the server mode setting. Switched it to on and both devices have gone back to normal!

Thanks all :+1:
