There you go!
Yes, works for me.

The English Electric 8Switch, which is nothing more than a very cheap ZyXel GS-108Bv3 board with an upgraded clock housed in a fancy case. The same board is also used in the NuPrime OmniaSW-8 and the Silent Angel Bonn N8 (which I own). I bought my N8 because I wanted a switch with rear connections, and found a good very deal on a used one. It works well, no regrets, but it did nothing to improve Netgear GS108 it replaced, nor did it imorove sound quality in any way.
Thanks. This nicely replaces and sums up my post that was deleted.
Well, for now only posts by those who don’t see a real interest in audiophile Ethernet cables.
Those who have a complete opposite view are tired to share, but they are many here. To name a few: DB, Gazza, Peder, FR, Drago, Cohen, Cheddar Cheese, Bert, Blackbird, Geko, Dunc, SteveS….and so many others.
In my case i sold my EE 8Switch and purchased a lovely whole leg of lamb from my local family Butchers
@ElMarko what is you kit spec please - Cisco and BJC?
Mine is a Cisco Catalyst 2960 WS-C2960-8TC-L V02 8 Port Switch bought in 2017. Designacable Cat6a (floating), if that helps. About £150 all-in.

Well I like my EE8 and what it does. It’s staying regardless of how many clever clogs say it makes no difference. I can hear an improvement and that’s what matters. I’ve tried taking it out and the sound is better with it in place. To me of course; there is no universal panacea.
I have it all detailed in my profile if you take a look. I’m using two PD Cisco switches to utilize POE for the last switch to the streamer. BJC Cat 6A. I paid about $75USD for each switch, one was new and one was lightly used, from ebay. I’m in the states so might not be the same options for you if you’re located in Europe or elsewhere.
Go Wi-Fi. It will try to upset an awe full lot of Ethernet gang
I did just that. I hooked up my ND555 on WiFi with my Nait50 in my second system with low expectations.
It’s still there 5 weeks later and still sounding awesome!
I’m in no rush to setup a switch and cable connection anytime soon.
Of course wifi works but how good compared to a good wired setup?
Wifi works fine like my qb so why do I have the big system at all?
I previously had my ND555 hooked up to my Cisco switch and Catsnake cables on system 1 in the other room (albeit in a non Naim system).
I have a very good WiFi connection and speed and I’m not experiencing connection issues at all and no loss in SQ I can tell - although this is a different system of course.
I’m enjoying the much simpler setup.
Ow mooch?
Absolutely.
There are differences in the interference / noise shaping patterns with different Ethernet setups, and these changes subtly affect the operation of the streamer / DAC / analogue stages.
Different cables will cause the streamer to sound different.
WiFi connection will cause the streamer to sound different.
Different switches will cause the streamer to sound different.
Different switch power supplies will cause the streamer to sound different.
The data timing from different data servers will cause the streamer to sound different.
Sometimes the differences will be obvious, sometimes they will be subtle
Since the changes act by changing the interaction of the streamer and its operational environment, thus causing the streamer / DAC / analogue stages to sound different, the changes will be unpredictable when moved from one operating environment to another.
Unlike analogue cables (which act as filters on the audio signal itself) the changes do not act directly on the sound or on the audio signal itself.
These are not comparable mechanisms of change.
The Cisco 2960 with MeiCord Opals have defo got that analogue PRaT that all of the other ‘takeover digi’ switches’ miss IMHO. I know, because even my misses has started joining in, and that’s a real rarity, trust me!
