On my path to upgrading my Din-XLR from Witch Hat Morgana to Superlumina I’ve been hugely impressed by the improvements in clarity and musical insight. I now have SL on treble and bass duties and I’m on the watch for a third to go on mid and complete the set. It doesn’t look like there is a 4-5 Din SL variant to replace the already excellent lavender so the only other option in the chain is the 4-4 active lead. Does anyone have any experience of that lead as I recall seeing some negative comments but can’t find them now?
No hesitation from me in recommending.
I have an SL interconnect from my NDS, SL between the 2x250 and the SNAXO and the SL active lead you describe. In my system this was the change with the most benefit from the SL upgrades (from Naim not WitchHat). Everything that bit cleaner, clearer and more open. The other changes were worthwhile but the active lead the best. A cheap enough change and easy to demo.

Pulled the trigger on the active SL lead thanks to Tom Tom Audio. Early days as it’s only been in for two hours but certainly no negatives at this stage. Everything sounds very….right. Hard to put in words the specifics. Will spend more time no doubt.
Edit. Blimey!! Must have warmed a bit. Left it playing radio 3 while I made some calls. Just listened to a bit of Laura Marling. Genuinely hearing subtleties in the playing I’ve not heard before. Kraftwerk on now. A huge step up in the out of the box feel to the sound. Really immersive. Very happy with this upgrade and now it feels cheap given the improvements. Thanks to @BruceW for the feedback that gave the confidence to check it out. I can certainly agree with your comments.
Great.
Compared to many upgrades it is decent value!
