My first experience with Naim audio in an active setup and my goodness what a jaw dropping experience. Spent 17 hours straight only stopping for rest room and food setting the mana up, and naturally reconnecting was a new experience for me(it went first time to our relief ) my first DBL experience too, gee the mana works well!
What a special system. 500 2x250 none DR 552 Dr ndx XPs SL interconnect naim dac only one powerline involved and some….
What a very very very special system. I can see this will end up costing me some money……
Sorry I didn’t get close ups of DBL, it’s not my setup I just gave love and help for new mana setup and system reset (big upgrade). Was A very rewarding experience as you see its just beautiful. The system was on a one stand rack and a complete birds nest. Like I said wow active. I have sl2 500 but I must say I’m very interested in going active after that experience.
Well I’ve got S1/2x500/SL2 in my main system with a FULL SL loom and it really is a fabulous system. It’s keeping a mint pair of T808’s in a spare bedroom which I find a real head …. But I just get more pleasure from the full Naim system and now that I’ve taken out all the Chord cables everything just sounds so “right”.
something about all those shelves and boxes brings my Psychological issues with clutter to a boil. And as I get older I also find it all a bit much. I’ve grown to appreciate simplicity . I’m more relaxed and calm when my surroundings are quiet and simple
I think that with the risk involved should things be connected wrongly in an active system (instant tweeter destruction), it beneficial to label all plugs and sockets in a foolproof manner. What I did was use coloured insulating tape, a wrap around each end of each cable (interconnects between active XO and power amps, and speaker cables, except XLRs where I used Neutrik ones for which colour coding rings were available. I also stuck a piece of same tape adjacent to all sockets, including speakers connectors. The six rainbow colours covered treble, mid and bass left and right. Although not really necessary I used black and white for L &R on preamp to AXO, thus covering all signal connections
