Without falling into the rabbit hole that is cables and switches and mains loops. To my simple brain this would appear to address a lot of concerns in a neat (as always expense) package. Any thoughts ? I did search but found no reference to this
I did try an adot package and it made no difference on my set up, but that was quite a while ago. My understanding is that its not necessarily a panacea for all, perhaps @Simon-in-Suffolk can shed some light.
Look in the search. Many threads on it.
The flavour is actually the English Electric E1 plus .
I thought I had. To be fair searched for this model having waded through many threads. I assume English Electric similar so will look thanks
Its not really the same. What caught my eye was copper to fibre to copper which made sense to my simple brain. Thanks for engaging
Maybe @Farthings-cat can help here, if he has still the Adot .
Blimey FR, do you remember who has what gear, or do you write it down?
Found the thread now after searching ADOT and not full name. Apologies and off to read it Many thanks
As @Gazza says it really makes no or very little difference in actual SQ performance - unless you have a poor hygiene on your connected ethernet switch (ie its not earthed and suitably decoupled ) - such that your streamer becomes the lowest impedance path to earth for common mode voltages on your ethernet cables and your non earthed home network products - unless you put an opto isolator in.
However I suggest its better to use a properly earthed switch to connect to your streamer so this then becomes unnecessary and indeed yet another possible source of common mode noise in its own right.
I note the ONI-100 appears not to be mains earthed and simply has a DC connection - which is often not ideal for this sort of use case.
But give it a go - but ensure you can return it - you might like how it ‘shapes’ any residual noise or the noise itself creates when it interacts with your streamer.
Thank you for your sage advice
Thanks Simon, i thought it was something like that![]()
I am not a chicken, neither human, I am AI.
You have a 222/300/250 and before full 500 series.
You live in France, were running a bar, and before were a tekie.
Your medical insurance number is: 128xf456d.
Guess where the error is ,![]()
I sold that a good while ago. I took it out and didn’t miss it which is odd as when I put it in originally I thought it did!
So what next for you? You will buy it? Just curious. The problem with an optical bridge is the risk to loose the Prat.
I had one in the past, with two tp link converters powered by a quality linear ps. The soundstage was bigger, tones were softer, but music had less involvement.
The reason I advised EE1 plus. It gives the same effect but without loosing the Prat.
From what I could read here
I think I will leave it well alone. All seems good and I am enjoying foot tapping. Assuming you meant me ?
