Albums no longer being released on CD

Through the internet I recently heard some tracks off an album by Kasper Bjorke Quartet called The Fifty Eleven Project, which I really enjoyed. I decided to check the availability of this album and, to my surprise, it seems only to be available on vinyl or by way of streaming, with no CD release of the album.

I am wondering if this is a one-off particular to this artist, or whether it is a sign of things to come?

It’s available for download in 320k mp3 and 16bit lossless FLAC or WAV from Bleep.

Look on fleabay. There are a couple of promo test releases on CD.
