Android Naim app in landscape mode

For some reason, the Naim app refuses to rotate to landscape mode on my Android tablet. Any idea why? I do n’t see any settings related to portrait / landscape or rotation.

i think there is a setting in android to turn of sensing - i set it a long time ago as i found it irritating but can’t remember what it was called

Don’t know how it is on your tablet, but when I swipe down twice from the top of my phone I get several options (sometimes there are more available by swiping from right to left then) and among those options is the possibility for screen rotation.

Other apps rotate if I rotate my tablet, but the Naim app does not. Strange.

It will be programmed not to rotate. It’s always in portrait mode on an iPhone.

OK, than it is apparently programmed into the app. Thanks!

On my Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Android version 10 tablet the app rotates between landscape and portrait as expected. However on my Sony Xperia Android version 9 phone it always stays in portrait format. Both devices run version 7.2 (1137600) of the app so it seems to vary depending on the hardware.

Hmmm… That is strange. I also have a Samsung tablet. I have to dig through the settings to see if there is any explanation.

I found the setting on my Samsung tablet. It was under Advanced Features / Labs. There you can force an app to rotate. But portrait was better in the end. So, Naim knows best

Just to add to the mild confusion, in an iPad, the Naim app changes from portrait to landscape automatically as you rotate the iPad.

App rotates as expected on my Samsung phone running Android 14.

No, it can rotate depending on the device. It rotates just fine on my Lenovo tablet
