Anti Virus Software

I’m thinking of changing from Kaspersky to Bitdefender Anti Virus on my Windows 10 laptop.
Any comments or advice welcome. Thanks

Oh, I wouldn’t Daveas, you’ll have the Kremlin after you

Just wait until they hear you own a HiFi made in Salisbury…

Some companies won’t offer you technical support if you use Kaspersky. I changed back to ESET which seems to get reasonable results in tests I’ve seen.

I know and understand very little of anti virus software but my son is studying in an engineering school just south of Paris . He likes very much applied mathematics and computer science and gave me just one anti virus option - Bitdefender. It works for me and I guess as far as I can see it’s good. And I have Window 10 on my laptop.

We’ve been using TrendMicro for years and never had any problems.

I use my BT packaged McAfee as the principle + Windows-10 Defender set to run in the background.
Both free, both work (for me) & for the average home user I’m struggling to understand why I need to pay for anything extra.

Mike, one word “Ransomware”.

Are you saying that McAfee doesn’t offer protection against Ransomware?
