Planning a visit on Saturday 18th July. Need a spare set of pads for my ZMF Atrium opens and it’s always interesting to see what new cans are on offer. The new ZMF Tessidera planars will be interesting to listen to. I am also interested if there are any IEM designs that will help side-sleepers drown out “night time noises” without leaving a rubber earpiece inside my brain after a nights use!
Not at that price to attend a sales pitch
These days, when in a coffee shop a cappuccino can easily cost a fiver, a plain croissant 3 quid and dry piece of microscopic cake another 5 … 20 quid is not too bad. Don’t even mention concert prices or football games. Bonus of a Can Jam is that there are people which still have a few years left unlike your average Hifi show which can seem like god’s waiting room. Anyway, seeing what many now spend on HP’s, a small sheet of the UK’s finest purple paper doesn’t seem outlandish.

The Can Jam shows seem to be a big success, in the HiFi world. They certainly seem to be aimed at a younger audience, which shows HiFi is not just rich late middle aged people, looking for the best sounding way to play Brothers in Arms and the Prog of their youth.
I would love to be in London to attend.
I have been reading through the visitor comments on Head Fi, as you can get some good insights on gear. I am particularly curious about the Grell OAE2, which is trying to simulate speaker listening, using angle drivers. Opinions have been polar opposites so far from two people who tried them.
I was curious about the Chord Quartet M Scaler, until I learnt the price. Yikes £25,000 + £1600 each level for the rack!
Silly pricing is starting to creep into the Headphone world too.
