Anyone tried/have a Chord Mojo 2 and/or Poly?

Anyone tried the Chord Mojo 2 with or without the Poly streaming add on?

Yes i have both.
I use it mainly when away in the motorhome or for when i just want to listen to headphones at home.
I mainly use the memory card in the poly to play music, as i have a 1 tb card in it.
You have to also use an app to make play lists on and then the go figure chord app will see this and you just go from there.
But it’s a great sounding dac and headphone amp, especially for it’s size.
The battery life is good.
The only real pain can be with the poly and getting the go figure app to open at times, but i have found if the battery is less than half, then it can be a problem, but if open then the battery can be run right down, strange but it can be a pain.
I also run a cable from my streamer to it to play music in another room andjust use it as a dac, this also work’s well for this situation.

So i would say it gets a good solid 85% as a pair, with just the poly letting it down on connection. The mojo2 on it’s own is hard to beat as a portable headphone amp/dac.

Thanks Dunc, really useful. Was wondering about choosing between the Mojo2/Poly and a pair of Focal Bathys to run directly from my iPhone as, currently, both cost about the same…..

Not sure if you meant within its intended purpose of a portable device, or within a hifi?
But anyway, for what it’s worth, I used the original Mojo in both instances and was always extremely impressed with the sound.

An amazing little package, even more so when considering the low price!

I think you’d be hard pushed to find a better DAC at this price point.

Plus the mojo2 has lot’s of different settings that are very helpful with different headphones.
It can be quite confusing using the mojo due to the lights, but once you have used it for a while it starts to get easier. But i only use 2 different headphones with mine so it’s not that bad adjusting between then.
If you are colour blind then it could be a problem.

But as i have already said if you want a very good headphones set up, the mojo2 is going to be right up there with anything else you can buy. Plus being portable is a right bonus.
Shouldn’t think you would need anything else. I did have an audioquest dragonfly cobalt and the mojo is much better, plus it doesn’t run my phone down, but obviously its an extra small box.

Similarly use it as a headphone dac/amp with my ipad or mac when away and I want something better than Bluetooth audio. Nice kit.

Another Mojo and Mojo 2 user here. I run mine off my Samsung phone via an Audioquest connect. I use the Mojo in my home office (fronting a Nait50/Rega RS3s) and Mojo 2 with my Sennheiser 58x’s. They are excellent - definitely hifi. Very fast and direct. I haven’t taken the time to do a critical listen on the main system but I’m sure it would show well. Hard to know how much was amp vs dac, but I strongly preferred my old Rega io + Mojo to my UQ2.

And yes no comparison to the AQ Cobalt.

You mentioned the 1tb memory card.

I like to shuffle play on a FiiO player and it can shuffle 9000 songs.

Do happen to know the Poly’s capabilities along these lines?

Much appreciated

I think chord say that there isn’t a limit on memory card size, i just use the 1 tb as i had one spare and it’s plenty big enough for me as i haven’t even filled a 1/4 of it.

Thanks for your reply.

And it shuffle plays I assume?

Yes
As said you can make play lists up using m a l p app, this then gets seen by the chord go figure app.
You can then pick whatever you want to play or shuffle, etc.

Ok thanks

Personally I find the Poly to be the weak link. I didn’t think it was very good in terms of sound quality, and the GoFigure app was a right pain. The Mojo2 on the other hand I find very good on a standalone basis.

The boring answer is Apple Air Pods Max are cheaper, sound fabulous and are way easier to use (assuming you use an iPhone).

As an owner of the Mojo2 van Polywog, I agree, Airpod Pros +1.

Having had a rummage around, I found;

And;

So not so sure I’m going to pursue the Mojo2/Poly path. Sounds remarkably good for their age…..:scream:.
