I installed it OK, It took about 30 seconds !!
Still has the minuscule volume controls I see, poor UI
Android app is the same. Also no numerical indication of volume level on the volume slider option (even the Sonos app has that).
Horrible volume controls.
You really wonder who designs this stuff? Let’s make the volume controls really small and bury them down the bottom of the screen. On IOS if you have the display enlarged or use large text then the controls become invisible and you have to scroll down. There’s so much space above so what’s the problem? Naim really fall short on these sort of things……poor remote ergonomics, poor display implementation are other examples, it’s basic stuff and so easy to get right.
I’m guessing software engineering makes the UI/UX. "How hard can it be… " This is how it was in the past before they messed
I have to agree with all of the above comments. The IoS app is an amateur attempt at a UI. Steve Jobs would be infuriated given his appreciation of calligraphy, type and aesthetic balance. Why oh why are Naim so poor at software? Have they fixed the bug that makes all the sources disappear on the home page when you tablet goes into sleep mode? Don’t tell me…probably not.
Just like FW3.10.x they will strongly advocate they are completely satisfied with the updated app.
Unbelievable really, that anyone would sign coding of this calibre off as acceptable.
Radio 3 playing a Brandenberg Concerto on the kitchen Muso and just noticed the App gives me a nice piccy of the composer … perhaps?
Roger
Thrash Baroque?
Martin
Bachman-Turner Overdrive?
And I’m still unable to get the slider volume to appear….
Anyone else?
Reminds me of the classic Top of the Pops moment - “Jocky Wilson said” by Dexys Midnight Runners!
You ain’t seen nothing yet ?
That’s because you have a Supernait 3 and are presumably using system automation. The slider can’t work in that scenario.
…as a FYI
I have 7.4 on iPhone and iPad and connectivity and ability to search, select albums, save albums and artists, play and control volume is easy and functions quite well.
It used to work with the NDX5XS2 streamer?
The only way it would have worked would be if you enabled the digital volume control on the streamer and used that instead of the preamp volume pot. This has a negative affect on sound quality, but if it still sounds OK to you it’s an option. You can do the same on your NDX2 if you want to.
Here’s a conundrum, and I’ve noticed this over several months, occasionally the UI shows an alarm clock icon to the left of the settings icon. Today it showed up briefly on one of Unitiqutes, but I have never seen it on the NDS.
I have long wished for a sleep timer, and I had hoped the new firmware and app would provide it. Ok, I have legacy equipment but I still live in hope …
Not sure why it’s playing up on your Unitiqutes, but the separate streamers never had an alarm function. I think I recall Naim saying that they considered it more of a convenience feature suited to “lifestyle” products, and they put it on all the Unitis and streaming preamps, but not separates.
