Interestingly I did read that SEM fuses are also considered very good by audiophiles. Maybe Naim considers them superior sounding to Bussmann? Could anyone from Naim confirm please?

Got to be very careful to use correct rating for fuses… Make sure you buy from a regulated seller 
Maybe they are made in the same factory and just branded. Is there really a uk cottage industry making fuses?
Is there any sort of ‘smoking gun’ evidence that can help one work out if one’s “Bussman” fuses are actually Bussman fuses?

The most obvious one is the fake ones have a deep dimple and yes I’ve seen them advertised in the hi fi world.
They get bought and plated from various sources.

Bussmann is a brand owned by Eaton and the BS1362 fuses are made in the Eaton factory in China
The BS fuse market is a bit of a quagmire. Genuine brands are hard to determine by sight alone as a factory can make them look exacly like a genuine so the pictures of fake & genuine comparasons found on G.Search are therefore questionable.

In the UK just about the only way to be absolutely shure that you are buying a genuine Bussman fuse is to buy from the UK distributer, that would be Farnell in Leeds. 13amp fuses are 18p each if you buy 10 at a time, shipping though is £9 for those 10 fuses lol.

This obsession with Bussmann fuses is a bit excessive in my view. They are just one of the various brands of fuse Naim have used over the years. Obviously you want to avoid a defective copy of any fuse, but there are plenty of legitimate brands out there.
The end caps do look completely different.

I’m actually not convinced at all it’s a big business worldwide. The only countries in the whole world that use fuses in plugs are the UK and Ireland. Lets face it, how often have you or me had a fuse blow in a plug ? I’m 68 and in all my years i can only think of 3 times. And all 3 times were in my early 20’s when living in dubious rented accommodation. What i will add though is that all of my Vertere Redline power leads came fitted with Bussman fuses, i just checked lol.
Counterfeit market exists and I can’t imagine it being worth it for nothing.
Be safe only buy from respectable suppliers.
Definitely agree with that. I get all mine from RS components. Clean up the end caps occasionally too. Glad we have another CD5si supporter.

I think that’s true. As you have said before, worth playing with the din / RCA connection though.
They definitely sound different, but im undecided as to which is best
