Honky Tonk? Technically Miles but John makes it
Yes indeed. I could add ‘In A Silent Way’ also with that criteria I think.
My take on Free: Very difficult to keep it to ten. ( Given in, it’s eleven!)
Walk in my Shadow.
I’m a Mover.
Fire and Water.
Oh I Wept.
Mr Big,
Be my Friend.
Come Together in the Morning. ( Amazing from Kossoff)
Soon I will be Gone.
Heartbreaker.
Alright Now. ( Live album opener)
Wishing Well.
Wouldn’t argue with any of that!
Odd how the track titles go together
Walk In My Shadow, I’m A Mover
Mr Big, Be My Friend
Come Together In The Morning, Soon I’ll Be Gone
Free Live with Cosmos Factory were the first rock albums I bought. With Heartbreaker Free were on their knees, Fraser left, Koss so ill from the narcotic abuse that he couldn’t always play, but when he did it was mind blowingly beautiful. On the album cover he wasn’t credited with playing on Wishing Well but this was an error - how could that have occurred?! I had the pleasure of an evening Simon Kirke and was able to ask the question myself, and yes “how could that not have been Koss?!” Simon went on to say Heartbreaker were the first sessions when Koss used a Strat with a Leslie speaker.
The keyboards of Rabbit definitely added another dimension to the band, and despite the tensions Heartbreaker was a brilliant record, one can only speculate what could have been if they’d held things together.
It certainly added something very special to my youth.
Thanks, great info.

Andy Fraser always stood out to me as an astonishingly good bass player. Very ‘musical’.
G
Absolutely, and his syncopation with Simon Kirke!
