Asset new albums view

In Asset the New Albums view shows 27 entries. Is this configurable at all if I want to increase it? I’m asking because I recently has a loan of of a Bluesound Node Icon and the BluOS app had a similar feature and showed a lot more entries and I liked that.

Asset default shows the newest 100 tracks/albums in the “New…” section of its directory.
Search www or ask the dBpoweramp forum, lots of answers.

Surely that can’t be right? I currently see 27 albums in the New Albums view and that’s a lot more than 100 tracks.

It counts individual loaded items, an album or a single track.

I’ve managed to more or less double the number of albums in the view (from 27 to 52) by changing the Dynamic Playlist Item Count option from 100 to 200. I still have no idea how it works because it is showing nowhere near 200 albums but those 52 albums contain a lot more than 200 tracks.

This is something I don’t really use and just left it on default.
I did say to go ask on the dBp forum … but idle curiosity sent me looking into “google” search.

“New Albums" displayed is not changed directly. Instead, it is tied to the Dynamic Playlist Item Count setting, and is calculated as exactly 10% of that total count.

To adjust the number of albums listed:

1. Open your [Asset UPnP Configuration]
2. Locate the Dynamic Playlist Item Count option in the advanced settings.
3. Increase this value (for example, to display 50 new albums, set this to 500).
4. Save your changes and Refresh/Rescan your library.

I saw that as well but it obviously isn’t working as described. With the default of 100 I was seeing 27 albums not 10. Not only that, on QNAP at least, you can only select values from a drop down list and 500 isn’t an option.

The other way to do it would be to add an extra tag using mp3tag called encodingtime:-

Then add the following to the browse tree and database field:-

That would list every album in a folder with the date the file was created:-

Admittedly its not a top view of each album.

I did this when I re-ripped my cd collection.

I don’t have any issues with the order new albums are displayed in the view, I just don’t understand how the Dynamic Playlist Item Count works as it doesn’t work as described

I doesn’t work that way on my Synology, and reading other www posts it seems most all are different because it has to work together with the each of the different NAS software.
So like I suggested on my previous post, ask the owner and the forum experts on dBpoweramp …..

I might do that to understand how it works but for now I’m happy that I’ve doubled the amount of entries in the view. Mission accomplished
