Thanks Mike - I always have to remember how to install it on my Qnap.
All done now.
Hi AndyP, I wouldn’t worry too much - yet.
Its time to worry when you can’t remember who it is in the mirror.
Im there already. When i look, it’s my dad that looks back. Cant be me ?
Just in time! I’ll receive the Synology I bought for the lady who’s dear to me on Monday, then Asset will be strongly needed.
@Thegreatroberto
I’m starting to see my granddad in the mirror, same falling cheeks, same ugly hands, same lightly twisted nose…
I have just installed the new version on my QNAP NAS and now Asset does not work. It appears in the App Center but when I click ‘open’ I get a message saying that ‘192.168.86.29 refused to connect’. I’ve tried rebooting the NAS and reinstalling Asset but to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this problem and any suggestions as to how to fix it?
I’m not a QNAP user, so not much help, hopefully other QNAP folks can help.
I see you have this posted on the dBp forum, I’m sure Spoon or Peter will be best port of call anyway.
I had a Asset install problem a while back with my Synology that was solved with a Synology update, so maybe worth trying a new install of the QNAP firmware
That gets REAL interesting when there are 13 of you, all sharing a single body!
(And one of us isn’t even human!)
How did you install it? Mine won’t allow it to be installed.
Suggest you report it to the dBp forum, looks like it might be a problem specific to QNAP, suggest add it to kittybag’s thread
Yes that’s the normal process on how i usually do it. It still won’t install on my QNAP.
I think the only thing I can suggest otherwise back to Mike’s suggestion.
Do you have an firmware updates to install on your QNAP (they do a lot of them). If so installing an update might allow you to then install the Asset update.
Ok all sorted now. It was me. I was trying to install the windows 11 version instead of the QNAP version. Doh! I’m really no good at this sort of stuff but i usually get there in the end. I really apologise for any confusion here. Thank you for your help guys.
Thanks for the pointer. All updated.
Hi. Thanks. Done that, unfortunately no response so far.
May be worth a check on the NAS under System Files, Allow/Deny List that the ip address has not been blocked.
