Hi all - have just connected up my new Naim Atom HE, pairing with PMC Actives (inspired by others on the forum!) and sigh, the screen is stripey and doesn’t appear to work. Any thoughts please?
The unit I bought was a “new” Naim Refurbished unit.
Not long after I bought my Atom it had a meltdown and the screen had lines across it. I assumed I would have to get it looked at, but after a restart it has been fine ever since, and that was years ago.
In your situation I would let your dealer know, if only so that the issue is on record should it ever happen again. Assuming that a restart solves the problem, of course.
Oh dear. Turn it off at the wall, wait a bit and then turn it on again. It would be rubbish if it doesn’t work properly. Be reassured that the results will be excellent…… eventually.
I am beginning to think the Atom HE has a built in fault as regards the display. Mine gave a loud crack and went blank. I was certain that something was finished. However, after a night unplugged it was back to normal. I don’t use it very much though, so I can’t say if the fault was a single event.
I think it’s a brilliant and simple solution. The PMC’s are really lovely - very airy and with a beautiful presentation. And when turned up, they show extraordinary poise with an ability to play as loud as you dare.
The Atom HE is a perfect dac/preamp/streaming solution and I can’t really see what I’m missing….aside from lots of boxes.
