Novice here, just getting started with the atom. Is it possible to run the preamp out, into a separate headphone amp? Thanks!
Yesno.
You can but a headphone amp expects a fixed line output and the preout is variable so you have two volume controls in series. Plus when using headphones you need to disable the power amp section and when done, go back into the settings and turn it on again. A real hassle.
Most people would just say the answer is no.
Thanks. Will stick with the onboard headphone option.
Why you need separate headphpne amp?
Atom have fine headphone out.
