Does anyone have any experience using the rear usb port of an Atom with a custom cable as a 12v trigger to power on other devices?
Cable would be a combination of the two cables below:
No idea if it would work…obviously usb is 5v but reading around its not always necessary to reach 12v to trigger a device to turn on.
I can’t see how this would work. Presumably you want a connected device to turn on when the Atom is turned on?
If the Atom detects a device connected to a USB port it remains permanently powered up, even in if you put it in network standby mode.
Yep, you are right. Checked the specs and seems it’s always providing power.
