Atom Turning Itself Off

A bit of unusual behaviour from our Atom last night. We use it primarily for the sound from our TV via HDMI, played back through a pair of nSats. Last night, during a sitting of about three hours, it turned itself off three or four times randomly. Any thoughts about why this might happen? No other ‘remote’ action that would impact it at the times it turned off.

Look at the system settings in the Naim app!
There is an entry power down after x minutes, set it to never!

Thanks, I’ve changed it to ‘Never’. Has the value of this changed somehow as we’ve never had this issue previously? Could it be that the unit isn’t seeing itself as active and standing by (after an hour)?

HDMI issues have been the subject of threads previously. One of Naim’s staff (can’t remember who) posted that the HDMI standards vary according to which to manufacturer chooses to interpret them. Naim try apparently to follow the specs - a search will likely reveal the threads concerned.
It is unlikely, that it is your Atom, that is with any issue, which is nevertheless frustrating, when the sound drops. I have a tv which is moved around to a couple of rooms which don’t usually have a tv, using the toslink, optic output to the nearest Naim streamer. It means of course having to activate units, rather the system functionality which HDMI can utilise, is not available.
In the av system, hdmi works up to a point, but despite newish units, it can’t be said it all works consistently, with the hdmi feed from the av processor to the tv, where if the source to the processor is changed, despite the hdmi connection being the same, the tv wants to do its own thing. An indirect comparison to your experience, but hope that in a small way, helps.

Well, unfortunately the ‘Never’ wasn’t the answer as it still went off a couple of times. Probably just the vagueries of HDMI. I’ll just have to wait to see how it plays out.
