Audi Software Woes

So have I (none bought new):

Between 1978 and 1993 I had several 100S Coupés: Two in succession (after someone wrote the first one one off) Then two more, bought as wrecks that I completely stripped and combined as one good one then sold. And also had use of my wife’s. All very reliable, parts expensive compared to British cars but needed far fewer! Good performance (for the times), and easily maintained.

~2000-2008 had an A6 - nice, but a disappointment after the Saab I’d had before it. But very reliable and cost very little to maintain.

Now I have a TT Quattro from (2001 model, bought 5 years ago), again very reliable, just keeps going beautifully despite its age.

Only the last two had/have some form of engine management system, but nothing like today’s all-singing all-dancing all ready to go wrong!
