I am going to run separate power from the consumer unit into the living room where my HiFi will go. I have made another hole in the wall to pass speaker, ethernet and HDMI cables through and hide the holes with brush plates. I have gone with some bog-standard brush plates but I want achieve a properly balanced system. Does anyone know where I can get proper brush plates for HiFi and home cinema that preserve the signal quality as it passes through the wall? Preferably to match the Russ Andrews mains components.
Brush plates are ok I don’t know of any “ special “ ones.
You could have saved money buying a standard MK double unswitched socket instead.
The Russ Job is a standard Hager Double that costs about £4
But it has a sticker and fluid treatment.

Getting DeoxIT to spray inside MK sockets is not easy, the MK security shutters do a real good job. I managed to get a few squirts inside once I understood how the shutter system worked, in truth I probably over flooded it a bit just to be sure - to be sure.
It’s hard to know which way is the right one, I’d recommend installing it one way, letting it settle for two weeks, then flipping it to see which way sounds better.
