This is an interesting video about off-beats and microrhythms.
I.e. ways of slowing down or slightly speeding up from the expected regimented underlying grid of regular beats in a time signature.
The discussion of the artist Dilla and how he pioneered this using an early drum machine by man called Linn is fascinating.
Also mentions numerous other artists experimenting with micro-rhythms and odd time signatures, including Jd Beck & Domi.
