Propaganda’s “Dream With In A Dream” is one of the greatest pieces of music ever recorded.

Here’s a really good live version of it from 1985, with none other than the great Derek Forbes on bass (plus his old Simple Minds mucker Brian McGee on drums) and Susanne Freytag looking stunning (sigh)…

Say what you like about old Chuckles – and let’s face it, he’s a crank, a tankie and a tawt – but he certainly knows how to put on a show at scale (300,000 strong crowd), and at least he’s got some fire in his belly…

Had to look to look up tankie……good one! :joy::joy:

Does anyone remember that time Propaganda appeared on The Tube in early '84, when they were still a trio (Claudia hadn’t joined yet)? They did a cover of Throbbing Gristle’s “Discipline” in front of a distinctly nonplussed audience.

One of those Great Moments In Television: I love Susanne standing there with her arms folded, haughtily intoning “Dizipleen”. I wonder what Jools and Paula made of it all?

# Hans Keller ‘INTERVIEWS’ the original line of PINK FLOYD - with SYD BARRET

I remember seeing this interview from the 60s quite a few years ago (probably in the late 70s or early 80s) and being annoyed by this man’s attitude. However both Roger and Syd keep their cool and are polite in their answers. Not sure Roger would be quite as polite now. I’ve read that Syd was ‘off his head’ on LSD at the time so even more remarkable if true.

Devon-Dave,

Astonishing!

Two terribly nice young chaps interviewed by pompous, arrogant and out-of-touch older bloke!

Yes I agree, but I guess we need to understand that he was brought up in a different time and his music influences were classical. He was a musician himself and was also a critic (not that it shows in this interview ).

Imperious…

Wendy Melvoin’s secret on how to play funk Interesting interview which starts with an analysis of EWF’s Shining Star, then goes on to discuss her work with Prince and more.

I think I saw it when it was originally broadcast. He has a complete pompous buffoon. I particularly like where he said he didn’t want to influence the audience before they heard the track, then proceeded to say exactly what he didn’t like about it.
