B&W Tweak

When my 802d3 speakers were installed by Simon of Infidelity he said that every six months or so I should gently wobble the tweeter and mid housings. The mid required much more force than I was expecting. He did explain why this tweak was worth doing but I have forgotten his technical explanation.
I wonder whether any other B&W owners are doing this tweak? I find sound comparisons after any changes difficult but the speakers do seem to sound very good after my tweaks yesterday.

Simon’s right.

804D3s here. On these, the tweeter is separate but isn’t isolated if the rubbery suspension is seized up. Doing the waggle keeps it moving, and not doing so for a few months makes for a less-clear stereo image (according to my girlfriend’s ears, which are better than mine).

Thanks Nick. Yes that makes sense. I did think the sound had improved. Must remember to do it every few months.
