As this seems to be affecting legacy platform kit only, I’d guess it’s a VTuner issue. I’m sure @Stevesky is on the case with them.
@franchiser and @KJH thanks, the iRadio list did not work for me yesterday, but today worked first time so I now have Radio 3 via Naim’s Choice on the QB. Unfortunately I do not seem able to set this to a preset.
No BBC 6music yesterday on any devices. Today, it’s working on Muso gen1 and QB gen1, but not on QB gen2.
My QB Gen1 has just sprung back to life, BBC radio stations now working fine.
Thanks Naim support for the quick response.
Unfortunately turned up on my 555 as well
All back on now thank goodness
I’m not sure that’s 100% the case…my Mu-so gen2, which I use daily in my office, is giving grief –
I’m also increasingly suspecting there’s some sort of issue with radio presets and the latest App update….
I’ve mentioned it in a couple of other threads, including pt.2 of the iRadio thread, but not had any responses re similar experience….but ever since the the last iOS update, my Radio Paradise preset (Main mix, Flac stream) basically doesn’t work or at best is very flakey….
@Stevesky replied a few days ago and reported that the stream had been down for 4hrs that day and it was a RP issue, so I put it down to that and presumed it was just bad coincidence……However , the behaviour has continued:
– Pressing the RP preset (position #1) doesn’t work 99.9% of the time.
– If I navigate to the Hi-Def section of iRadio and select the stream from there, it works…But not always…
– I have deleted the favourite/preset and re-added…No difference.
– I have moved position of the RP preset in the list…No difference.
– All of my other radio presets work fine i.e Groove Salad, Naim Radio, Naim Jazz etc…all start playing within 1 sec of pressing the icons…
This has definitely happened post the most recent iOS update. If it was all my presets, it would make sense it was a bug with the new update, but why just one radio station…?
I did Google and found reports back in September that RP had issues with the Flac stream into Australia due to the Singapore servers that feed Australia…As a work around they switched the stream to route via the Europe based servers…I initially though this may be the root of the issue…But, this was back in September and I never had any issues at all through Sep/Oct and most of Nov.
With these reported BBC station issue as well, I’m wondering if there is an issue with the App…??
One thing to add, after a few days:
– I’ve discovered if I press the RP Preset icon on the App homescreen repeatedly, like 2-3 times in a row about 2 secs apart, it will actually start the stream……
Again, this feels like an App bug to me……though, why with just one specific station….?!
Anybody else…?

BBC radio is working once more on my legacy NAC-n 272. However, if I access BBC radio 1 or 2 through the Naim’s choice menu there are two second dropouts every four seconds. I don’t know why, but would be interested to know if anyone has experienced this and found a solution.
Thanks Simon, so is that where my Uniti star is currently getting service from? It’s just over 2 years old. Still lost BBC like the legacy kit though.
If your Unity Star has the latest firmware then yes it’s using the new Naim service. If you’re using presets to access the BBC stations and they have a warning sign next to them then they’re still pointing at the old service and you’ll need to re-add them. You can see the warning triangles in the screenshot below.
Thank you. I wondered what those were. Now I feel a little stupid, but to be honest most users don’t spend time on a forum and I think Naim should communicate with their customers better. Cheers for the tip
Naim has actually worked on this if you are on the new radio streams not vtuner. Also on the second generation streamers you can always airplay or chromecast from bbc radio anyway.
Broken again! But the solution is to ignore your previously saved favourites or programmed buttons and start again with the internet radio options. use the button provided by the menus specifically for the BBC and select the station from there. This worked for me and I just replaced my previous favourites with the new working ones.
If you click in the warning triangles it tells you you need to update the favourites, but that relies on you realising that you should click, which I didn’t. Personally for major feature releases like this I’m surprised that there wasn’t an email announcement as there is for product launches, but I did 35 years in IT and marketing’s decisions surprised me throughout that career.
Ah cool, I must have missed that, thanks.
BBC programmes on my Atom work well. But I now get real problems listening on my 1st generation Qube and Muso. Sound cuts out every few seconds making listening impossible. Both worked well on V tuner, when that was working! All other radio stations work well on new service but I listen to Radio 3 a lot. Listening on 320kbps no better
There may be something else going on as my 1st Gen Qb1 has no problems with R3 or R4 (except on those occasions when vTuner fouls up). But it’s absolutely fine at the moment.
Just signed up to post on here.
This is quite a frequent issue I’m having with my Muso and Muso QB - it either cuts out or just don’t work, my Wi-Fi and internet is fine, sometimes just goes off and can’t reconnect.
What is going on here?
