Some nice discoveries this year ?
Reminds me a bit Monty Alexander.
What is the link between Black Sabbath and Jazz Sabbath?
Thanks for asking @frenchrooster. Difficult to find favourites but here goes. I have bought a lot this year as a result of the situation we are in. I think my favourite releases of 2020 are the following
Carla Bley - Life Goes On
Moses Boyd - Dark Matter
Dinosaur - To the Earth
GoGo Penguin - GoGo Penguin
Thelonious Monk - Palo Alto
Thanks. The Moses Boyd album is one of my favs in 2020, too.
Hi @docbot, the Monk album is a great choice, I like it a lot. Too bad it is recorded not very well.
Cheers
Iver
GoGo Penguin is a regular play round here.
If it’s favourite releases of 2020 rather than new releases in 2020 then I must add the Acoustic Sounds reissue of Ballads by John Coltrane’s Quartet it’s one of the best
‘Audiophile’ reissues I own.
I will check Elliot Galvin. I know the others. Thanks for the sharing.
Jazz versions of Sabbath songs - surprisingly good.

@IvdZ I agree. It is a shame about the recording but the music and the story behind it is great
