With the imminent demise of Linn Records, I’m scrambling to determine which format to buy for the mostly classical, some jazz) recordings I plan to purchase. There are multiple DSD and DXD options, or do I just go for FLAC/WAV Lossless? Thanks
I would just go for the highest res FLAC file available. I found that DSD sounded very good on some material such as chamber music, bit a little dull and lifeless for genres such as rock, so I don’t often bother with it.

I would go for Flac - my experience of DSD on my NDX2 was never that impressive.

The Naim streamers convert DSD to PCM internally, anyway

Indeed, the whole DAC reconstruction filtering and over sampling chain in the SHARC processor is PCM based… and the higher end DAC chips Naim use I believe only support PCM.
To the OP, as others have said, go for FLAC. It is open source software and is likely to be supported for as long as we listen to music encoded within digital files.
