Can I ask the collective for their opinion on which is the best sounding RCA input to use on an SN3- or are they all the same?
I have trialled all of them and cannot hear any difference at all- but that may be my system or more likely my hearing (ex military heavy noise exposure)
@Skeptikal may have a view? On a technical point - does the proximity of a powered din socket as in the aux affect the RCA sat below or am I over thinking it?!
@Endon
Hi
I took consistent advice from some very established members on here that if I had “ and I do only RCA “ then for the turntable with a line out the best input to use is Tuner.
I do this with no problems and haven’t swapped about the advice was good.
I’m considering in the future going MM and will use the appropriate phono input at that time.
I got over the OCD of tuner not being phono by thinking TUN means tune.
Bit overthough as I only use one type of connector and have the Din ones blanked off
Hope this helps.
If you can’t hear a difference then I wouldn’t worry about it.
PS i’m in the boat as you ref. hearing degradation and cause.
Thank you. I will follow suit!
I know- you are correct!! I’m asking for any friends who may have better hearing than me so they can have the best experience when I bore them with “hear how lovely my system sounds”!
Neat and tidy as ever.

They should be identical.
All individually wired, unlike the xs range below. See top left of this image.
As far away from the transformer as possible is my vote.
It amazes me how OCD we can get. If the OP doesn’t hear a difference than it should stop there. Even if someone with better hearing perceives a difference, the OP might never hear the difference. We need to make our audio lives less stressful.
We do- I agree. Unfortunately in my case at least the catalyst to EAA (excessive audio angst) is this forum….
I get that! I’m considering a MC SUT so I can use the phono input of the 222 for that same reason. I love the spinning turntable logo on the phono input.
The little Audio Technica AT630 is a great little unpowered SUT
Be nice to use the phono input.
May I ask what your thgts are about this approach?
@Straydog1
Hi
I’m thinking
TRigB Audio Technica VM760SLC,
into my Ekos SE-1
Nice looking cartridge and I had the same thoughts.
Initially had the Linn K9 (MM), then Linn Adikt (MM) on the Basik+ tonearm. Did change both their styluses a number of times.
Then changed to the Linn EkosSE with an AT-F7 (MC), then the Linn Kystal (MC).
I was thinking about changing back to quality MM cartridge when the Krystal needed changing, as I always thought the stylus on a lot of MCs were a bit exposed. Thought that MM lasts longer due to bd able to change the stylus.
But then remembered I had the Urika fitted so I’d have to stay with MC unless change that as well.
Easily done, but then circumstances changed and went streaming.
DG…
Sell the Urika too.
Agree, it was a nice touch in my 222, but I didn’t like the SQ of the built in phono…… it would have been good to have made the image displayed configurable in the 222, rather like the 332 enables input buttons to be assigned to inputs.
