I see what you mean.
I didn’t think it was a Robin, as it doesn’t have a red breast. 
I don’t have any pictures but look up juvenile Robins. They are all speckly brown until after 3 months.

The wind will carry us
..which is also the title of a very fine Iranian film. These guys, feather ruffled Tree Swallows, were trying their best to hold on to the branch in 42 mph wind gusts. Flying was totally out of the question.

A lot of them about now but still rather grand. Some days we have the Parakeets around as well and the combination of both sets of whistles and cheeps feels very exotic!

A partial stretch in mid flight. Legs spread out but the other end, the neck, fully cocked. A Great Blue Heron gliding to a new spot along the river.

I was carefully watched by the male Osprey as I completed my butterfly survey, the female staying on the nest. I am so lucky to have an active nest site in my survey grid square.

A Green Herron awaits his opportunity and then changes position. Finally the sun got low enough and a minor cloud diffusion allowed for a more delicate scene in terms of colors and contrast.
