More likely an escapee from a falconer, they are a very popular bird in falconry
As a novice, I’m not sure about this chap in the bushes. Merlin let me down. Possibly a young Chiffchaff ??
Sundown groom
The immatures Trumpeter swans showed up today on the river and probably will be gone before the weekend is over. The air around us is cooling fast.
Autumn bounty.
Interesting to see a few divert from the feeders to the huge crop of berries avaialble just a few feet away. While others still consistently favour their sunflower hearts of choice…
Wait a minute..
..I am not done eating. The rest of the Sandhill Cranes group is already anxious to move on.
Sitting out having a drink this evening in La Gomera, we had an interesting 10 minutes.
Firstly we had an Osprey circle over us a few times with plenty to say for itself, it sounded a bit distressed. If you expand the picture you might just see it though the beams. Then ahead though binoculars a Buzzard was being mobbed by two smaller birds of prey that looked like Peregrines, which they could be, but more likely, Barbary falcons. All being territorial I guess. Only had my rubbish phone camera, I’m afraid.
Where are we going?
After watching for a while the Sandhill Cranes I still couldn’t figure out who was making the decisions..
Buckthorn delight
A white-crowned Sparrow ( immature, Dark-lored) is rushing his dinner before loosing the light.
Just been ‘AI Enhancing’ a few of my past travel photos and came across this fella’ taken in Udaipur, India in 2018.
Didn’t think much of it at the time - I wasn’t a twitcher then. Merlin informs me that he’s a Jungle Babbler… though, situated in the Thar Desert, he couldn’t have been further away from a jungle if he had tried !!
A hungry and very energetic Juvenile Cedar Waxing
.. impatient to replace its reduced mask and gain a vivid colorings of the adults.
