Hi all, first time on here, have read LOADS of useful info naturally regarding Naim gear, im in the process of upgrading my 2ch and movie surround setup.
This question is off the back of a reply from @IWCDoppel earlier this year;
Im curious because im on the fence at the moment regarding buying an AV2 or new other AV processor / receiver.
Im only looking to run 4.1 surround, my Panasonic Blu-Ray player outputs multi channel over analogue (obv optical and HDMI too).
How has @IWCDoppel implemented his Panasonic 9000 into 4x 32.5 amps?
I run analogue out from the 9000 Blu-Ray for audio (Quite heavily modded) and HDMI for picture (Lumagen then projector) A supercap has been used to feed power to the 4 32.5’s I trim volume in the player so each wheel is matched and then have 4 volumes for 8 channels. Bass is more complex as I run 5 subs and only EQ and align those subs, no EQ on the 7 bed later channels
So for each channel they run from player to 32.5 to power amps (in my case 135’s) then speakers
I decided to see how I got on with just using 4 volume wheels, I did some measuring and I could quite easily match levels by eye within 0.5db. I thought about adding a digital volume if it was a pain. But actually I do the same as I did before usually choose the same volume for a film, maybe trim once snd that’s it. So I didn’t find it troublesome and to mute I just pause the film.
