That looks like a perfectly legit UK issue - there’s no region code given as it’s a region-free disc.
Does it play in any other BR player?

At least this cinema bears a strong resemblance to the cinemas of old back in the 1970’s. I was a regular cinema goer back then throughout my teens. We never normally go to the cinema now but we did go a few years back, just out of curiosity more than anything as I wanted to see how things had moved on. I was shocked to see that the auditorium more resembled a lecture theatre than anything else. Very basic and utilitarian, poor quality seating rather then the plush ones I remember and shockingly (to me anyway) no curtains across the screen. Just a big screen stuck there on the wall. I’ve no idea if this is typical of modern cinemas but if it is then it’s no wonder they are less popular now they once were (apart from obvious other reasons).

As far as sound goes, I actually very much liked the sound in those days which would have been from valve amplification driving large horn loaded speakers. It had a quality that I haven’t ever heard anywhere else. Not hi-fi certainly, but very appealing all the same for movies. I wish I could reproduce the effect at home for watching films, but despite our large horn loaded speakers it doesn’t sound very similar at all. I suspect it simply isn’t achievable in anything less than a large auditorium.
That cinema is rather older than the 1970s… It’s the (restored) Electric Cinema in Harwich which opened in 1911. Probably the oldeest working cinema in the UK now that the Electrice Cinema in Birmingham (opened 1909) has closed.

I expect you would need both a high ceiling with Western Electric tube amps driving horns that fit in a living room. So matching Western Electric horns are probably a non starter. But vintage Altec Lansing horns might do it.

Backinthegame, I’m quite late to this party but I have a 820 as well. I don’t know how to solve your problem with BR’s that won’t play. I’ve had a couple of issues but I think that’s about the disc. I did have some info on audio playback. But it seems I remember that incorrectly. 
So what’s this all about. I knew there was a digital out of the 820 and I tried feeding it to my Questyle 15 originally without success. I revisited that setup again today. If you haven’t done this then do! It’s not a little difference it’s instantly noticeable. Richer and far more dynamic. As well as defined in that all dialogue even that at lower volume is completely understandable.
Now my issue is my toslink cable is a basic RCA from a big box store. I’ll need to do some research to find the best value option. This is movie watching and not as important to me as 2 channel. I believe in good quality cables though. I have all Naim cables except for one Chord cobra for output to a sub I’m not using currently. The other cables for movie playback are audioquest cinnamon so maybe I’ll stay with that. Good luck with your playback issues and definitely go digital out. And in case you haven’t and are not aware. Go to the HDMI section and shut the audio off. That sends the audio from HDMI output to optical. Probably what I didn’t do the first time.

I only have two blu ray discs that won’t play, one I have on 4K download, the other is a bore as I really wanted to watch it. Rififi, an early French heist film.
But other than that the machine is good.
Not tried any music yet.
I am not very technical, as may be obvious, so at the moment I am playing the movie sound via the hifi use bluetooth. It’s easy and the sound is great, so I’m happy.
As time goes on I might get a bit more ‘sophisticated’ using various cables, and so on, but at the moment movies have a great picture and very good sound.
Good value I think

My original 820 purchsed in December 2019 turned out to be faulty - it made an awful noise when loading discs and the image would break up on a single disk (Blade Runner 2049). It would therefore be worth playing the disc in another 820 if possible. The replacement has been fine since, although it does appear to be susceptible to dust on the occasional disc.
