Bluesound node

Hi

I am new to this forum, so let me introduce myself, my name is Joris en i am from the netherlands.

Iown a naim system which contents a Naim naitxs2 and Naim NDx streamer (the first one)

I currently own a Bluesound node N130 wit Sbooster , i have connected this via a chord digital cable to my ndx and the ndx is connected via Din. My speakers are Neat Motive 2.. I love the sound. But I am looking for a Bluesound node icon connected via rca >rca to my Naim nait xs2, using the dac form the bluesound icon. So I can play highres audio files, the dac from de NDX does not support these files.

My question is will there be improvement?

Nope, I had a bluesound node2 and the onboard DAC was mediocre at best.

I had some interest in the Icon. I remember there was a discussion of it at the time. There are some positive web reviews of it over the 2i

Hello and welcome

I discussed the Bluesound range with my dealer two weeks ago -and bought a Node. His comment was that when fed by a digital signal to an external DAC they sounded quite similar. Obviously you have three Bluesound price points with DACs of varying abilities

I picked it up yesterday

best wishes

Ian

Bluesound node2 is not the same as the node icon

ah only read the Node N130 bit

There’s only one time I liked the ESS DAC though and that was in an Auralic Vega mk1, wasn’t impressed with the eversolo A8 or Matrix element.

The Node Icon has a dual-mono DAC design, while the regular Node has a single DAC. I have both and the Icon sounds better to my ears. But I have no idea if it would be better than an NDX. I also haven’t tried the Icon in my main system, so also no comparison with my ND5XS2. The ND5XS2 definitely sounds better than the regular Node.
