Bookshelf speaker that produces best bass?

I am on the same journey. See the thread (small bookshelf speakers with nait 50/uq2)
Very hard to find a good one.
Less powerful amplification limits it a bit. In my case uq2.

Currently on loan: Epos n7. Very modern and transparent… good bass. But lacking the musical magic.
Apertura swing. Heard them with atom. Very nice. But they need power - best 80w.

What amp do you have in that system?

As @Innocent_Bystander has mentioned slim floor standers don’t take up any more floor space than stand mounted speakers - and sometimes even less. If you are concerned about bass then this would be my choice. Otherwise I wouldn’t choose any speaker just based on how much bass it produces. There are much more important considerations which will vary depending on your own preferences and priorities. But if you really can’t do without bass then a slim floorstander is likely to get you nearer to your ideal than a stand mount.

There’s a number of smaller loudspeakers with isobaric bass, Neat comes to mind:

Personally I’d recommend some ATC SCM 7’s/11’s or 19’s

ATC speakers sound amazing

Maybe not high enough up the league but I am very impressed with my Monitor Audio Bronze BR1 speakers. The BR2 have better bass extension but are rather taller (but still fit on a bookshelf).

But they do need power - the 7s are my catch but they seems to need more power to function properly. I would like to use them with uq2

I agree, 7s have a reputation for being harder to drive than 11s and 19s. Based on my experience with my 7s, 100w pc is a minimum .

I have ATC SCM 7 with nait50 is beautiful Kombi

And 11s wont fit in my environment of system 3… sad.

Nait 50 is more (Peak)powerful than uq2. I should nevertheless give them a try.

These atc 7 seems to have a similar spec to nsats. Dimensions are very similar. Nsats are still my reference for bookshelf’s. But they lack bass …

The small bookshelf Neat Ministra speaker have heaps of bass being isobaric loading

Only slight downside ( depends on room though ) , being only 17 cm wide , the soundstage not quite as wide as some.

Great speaker though, beautifully made and well worth a listen

On the basis that everybody recommends what they have, Graham LS5/9.

BUT answering the questions posed by @Chalshus would make things much easier. If by using the term bookshelf as an alternative to stand mount, keeping with Graham Audio, look at their website and see why, the size of standmounts varies so much. It possibly also gives and answer depending on your likes and budget. LS 3/5 together with the Sub 6.

But (again) your profile says Linn Kan, so are you looking for a similar sound balance with deeper bass?

Given bookshelf in its most literal sense, I assume that you’re looking for something small and without a rear firing port, maybe?

While they aren’t currently on a bookshelf, I’m very happy with my Sonus Fabers Sonetto I G2 and their down firing port. There is also the II if you want something a little larger.

The OP clarified early on that he/she meant stand mount not bookshelf (which is why some of us suggested floorstanders with similar foitprint)

Another important question:
How big is your room.

I had Harbeth M30.1 in my previous living room. It was great. 30m2.

Then I moved to a 45m5 living room with 2,5m ceiling height and the bass from the speakers disappeared. I needed bigger speakers.

All ATC’s reportedly need lots of power but honestly I find they don’t need anywhere near what others report

A good 50wpc amp will be perfectly fine

How about the ATC SCM 20ASL . They are actives and designed for smaller rooms.
