Brand New Nac 552 and very, very loud noise from right speaker

This is what the service technician told me. The 552 hasn’t arrived yet but I hope that this will be the end of the usual bad adventures.

Yes, I wondered that. I knocked my ND555 Burndy a while back and it wasn’t set probably and had the same symptoms (mine just needed inserting properly). You are lucky the Burndy didn’t short out.

Hey Management.
Your Top Classic Naim Nac 552 has just returned to me after service and after 2 hours of listening where it almost blew up my Amati G5. It sounds OK but… The rattling balance knob and once again the lack of an instruction manual for the top Nac 552 is embarrassing. How many times can we give you another chance…?

I’ve been with Naim since 2012 and
I’m currently setting up my Top Dream system. But… Try a little bit because I’m starting to doubt this famous British technological Reliability…
Please :pray::pray:

Oscar, what do you mean by “rattling balance knob”. Do you mean it’s loose? Where did the 552 go for the service? Was the distributor or back to the factory in the UK?

Richard, my NEW 552 has just been serviced by FNCE Europe and I have listened to it for another 2 hours. I am not allowed to post videos on your forum so give me your @ address and I will gladly send you a video of another Naim Nac 552 fault I have discovered in the last 60 minutes…
Beat Regards !!

I have loved Naim for 12 years, but your 552 has let me down in terms of build quality, although it sounds brilliant. If you don’t help me,
I will leave Naim without any scruples and …

I have been saving money for 7 years for my dream Nac 552

You would be best advised to contact your supplying dealer and take up the matter with them. You have a warranty with them and they are the best positioned to champion a resolution. If you have no joy there then you could take up the matter directly with your distributor, but hopefully not necessary with your dealer in the case.
