Busted SN2

all of a sudden input lights blink, left channel is dead and right goes in and out
any ideas?

does naim still fix the supernait 2 in canada/north america?

there doesn’t seem to be any service or repair links on the NaNa site and search gives no results

I would have thought it should be fixable. Have you contacted your dealer?

Otherwise, the Focal Naim America website gives contact info:

IIRC, the Canadian number is for customer service, although note that today is their thanksgiving and many businesses will be closed.

In the meantime I wonder whether @NeilS might have an ideas of what’s awry here with the Supernait 2.

The flashing input lights may suggest the protection circuit is being triggered, possibly by the silent channel drawing too much current due to an output stage fault.

Regards
Neil.

Edit: check if it still does it with the speakers disconnected.

the lights don’t blink now for some reason but i wonder if it’s a speaker since my right speaker works while plugged in to either the right or left channel output of the SN2

thanks neil, you did it

when you said protection circuit i thought “what could do that” and the first thing that came to mind is a short

sure enough, yesterday i moved some LP box sets around near the left speaker and the naca got a little caught up a bit but pushed it out and never thought about it again but it twisted enough to connect the exposed parts as i go direct wire through the post holes

anyway buddy, you saved me hundreds of dollars for nothing and weeks of music and I’m eternally grateful

May be worth getting some quality Deltron Banana Plugs soldered on to get a nice secure fitting to prevent this from happening again.
