Thinking of looking for a nice clean Uniti 1, what would I need to look out for, off the top of my head I want at least a working screen, any thing else to consider?
Make sure that it has had the hi-res upgrade, which involved a new streaming board. Without it, I don’t believe you can stream from tidal or update the unit to the latest FW version.

The very first Unitis has a streaming board that could only handle CD quality 16/44.1. Then an early firmware upgrade enabled 24/96. Fine if you only want to stream from your own UPnP server
A hardware upgrade then added 24/192 capability. Many early Unitis had this upgrade installed by Naim. This is the streaming board you need, otherwise you will not be able to use internet radio, Tidal, Spotify or multiroom.
As with any Naim purchase, get the serial number from Naim and ask them for any service history.
Check that the unit runs firmware version 4.9.
Obviously check that the CD player works if you intend to use it.

The one I am looking at was serviced at Naim at some point with a new screen and board so sounds it maybe worth a punt for a compact system in the extension/dining room as her in doors would like to play her Kylie CD’s 
.
I am afraid that Kylie CD will not play on Uniti 1. Well known fault that Naim have declined to address with firmware updates.
