Cable for Kudos Titan 606

Is this sharpness with both LP and CD?

Yes, it is independent of the source.

I’m very happy with Chord Signature XL speaker cable. I started with Odyssey, briefly tested Signature Reference but found XL to be most balanced.
I’ve also recently changed from Epic X to Signature array interconnects and got more openness.
I have 606 and found putting them on Townsend Podiums was the biggest improvement for getting a really balanced sound with details across the frequency spectrum. Only then did I address cables.
I should add I then went active with the Kudos Sigao and a pair of NAP250 and NSC222. It puts the 606 in a totally different league.
I did not a/b against KS1 as I was happy with the demo of Chord Signature XL.
As others have posted it’s about the total system and room. And little things like listening to the LP12 lid open/off is the cheapest upgrade ever for openness!
Finally make sure your mains supply and cabling are up to the rest of your system.
As for brightness, When I initially got by 606 driven by Audiolab 8000M Chord Odyssey speaker and Chord Epic X interconnects, there was occasional brightness. It was definitely there still with the NSC222 and the NAP250 new classic, however it is clearly source music dependent. It never sounds shrill, just some recordings have a little bore brilliance but it is well tamed now, as I would hope with the setup now have.

Do you hear the sharpness regardless of where you are in the room? If it’s not everywhere in the room, it could just be room dynamics.

Kudos speakers are also very revealing. Poor recording are not masked over. I have music I don’t listen to anymore because it’s poor recordings.

I would probably pick up a second hand set of KS-1 and try it. If you don’t like it, you would get your money back on resale.
