Cable Talk 3.1

I can get this cable for the Naim Nait 5i 2/Scansonic M5 but I wonder if is a bit smooth and relaxed for Naim attack. I have read is similar to Naca4 in construction. Anyone who knows this cable caractheristics?

Hi @nbaptista … welcome back.

I don’t think Cable Talk published any meaningful specifications (characteristics) for their cables.

But whatever, Cable Talk 3.1 series used a “shotgun” style layout, very similar to Naim NACA4 and NACA5. “Shotgun” means a central web spacer to make a wide separation between the positive and negative wires. This spacer distance increases inductance and lowers capacitance compared to a close-coupled two-wire cable.

I can’t find the actual numbers, but the web spacing distance is very similar to the NACA4 and NACA5 and OK for Naim amps. But I’m not making comments of how the sound quality is.

I have bought the Cable Talk 3.1 and I will try it. The Qed 79 is an older design.

Wow, Cable Talk 3.1, that takes me back 30 years to when I was Teenager getting into hifi. Very good cable, but I definitely noticed the improvement when I upgraded to NACA5 with my Nait5i and acoustic energy AE109s.

Yes, but Naca 5 terminated and so on costs highly today.
