I have some Naim speaker cable but I am unsure if it is A4 or A5. It is very stiff and has ‘Naim Audio’ Can anyone please tell from the photos which it is. Many thanks
Looks like NACA5.
Is the visible difference between A4 and A5 the wide, flat, separator between the two cables on the A5?
I.E. the two cable runs on A4 are bonded very close together, without the flat separator in the center?
Or can A4 also have that flat separator in the center?
Just something I’ve often wondered about!
Thanks for any help!
Easiest way to tell is the stiffness and the printing of Naim Audio and the arrow.
Thank you, Richard.
If you can see and count the strands (May not possible if both ends are properly terminated with soldered connectors):
NACA4: Each core contains 54 strands of 0.3 mm copper
NACA5: Each core contains 19 strands of 0.5 mm copper
The A4 is much more flexible than the A5… for me it’s the A5.
Many thanks for all the very helpful responses.
I have attached another photo which I believe only confirm the view that it is A5
I’m not sure but the A4 only exists in black right?
No, I have some white NACA4 somewhere.
Count the strands and compare with the advice above.
No, I use white NACA4 on my Atom.
