Cannot see music on NAS

Good afternoon,

Good afternoon,

I have an intermittent problem with accessing music stored on my Synology 720+ NAS.

Occasionally I cannot see any music files at all and on other occasions I can see duplicates of all albums.

This is true whether the music is served up by Synology’s own server and Minimserver.

Any ideas welcome.

Are you running both servers at the same time?

Hi Neil1906,
Nope, Although I am sharing the music on the NAS with other users. If I go the NAS things look fine and I can see all the music.

Your profile doesn’t say what kit you are using to access your HiFi.

Has this always been an issue?

Have you tried powering off your streamer for 5 mins?

Have you tried accessing your music via the VLC app?

I am using a Muso and an Atom HE.

Going through the Naim app I could not see any music. Tried again at 0800 and again at around 1000 and then I could see two of everything.
And now everything looks right again.

I have powered off both units to no effect.

I have not tested through VLC.

I think at this point I will wait and see.

Thanks.

You do not say if your system is wireless or wired.
I suspect a network problem over wireless, maybe a simple system restart is all that’s needed, maybe something more.
If you can tell us exactly what you have.

Hi Mike,
I am wireless but did connect everything up using cables to no effect. Kit = Atom HE, Muso, Synology 720+ NAS and Fitzbox router. I think the problem is/was with the server interaction with the NAS.
As I say all looking fine now.

Glad it OK for you now.
If it does go wrong again, try VLC player to access your NAS and check if you have the same duplicates there - it may help the diagnostic further
